Auditioning New Bassists

With the pending departure of bassist Miguel, SunKast is auditioning new bassists!

Do you know an 11- to 14-year-old bassist in the Roseville/Rocklin area with a passion for rock music? Talk with them about auditioning to join SunKast.

Band Requirements

SunKast rehearses weekly at Bach2Rock in Rocklin, CA, and all band members are required to join the school’s band program . Additionally, the band plays 1–2 gigs per month in the Sacramento area, which requires the members to own and maintain their own gear (e.g., bass guitar, amp, etc.) appropriate for gigging. The band covers classic 80s and alt. rock songs and is developing originals.

Auditioning musicians should be between 11 and 14 years old and capable of learning the band’s complete set list (see below). In addition to looking for a talented musician, the band is looking for someone who is a good fit with the group (energetic, collaborative, hard worker). Also, girl bassists are badass (boys rock, too).

Auditioning bassists will be asked to perform three songs with the band, chosen to represent a range of difficulty across the set list:
